Château Reynon Rouge

More than a humble Premières Côtes de Bordeaux, this wine shows a class and refinement well above its humble appellation. Lots of wood notes and ambition. The palate is packed with sweet dark fruits, crème de mûre, mulberry and spice, enrobed by gorgeous tertiaries thanks to the bottle ageing. There is real lift and concentration; long and serious; this should still be excellent in years to come.

Food Pairing: Sophisticated and elegant, this wine pairs well with game meats, roast lamb or hearty beef stews.

Comment from critics: “The 2015 Reynon is gorgeous. Attractive floral notes add perfume to a core of racy red cherry and plum fruit in this soft, open-knit Merlot-based wine from the late Denis Dubourdieu. Plush and caressing on the palate, with silky tannins, Reynon is a winner in 2015.”
